Bravdo wines are produced by the Karmei Yosef Winery in the rolling hills of the Judean Plain, in the Samson Wine Region southeast of Tel Aviv, not far from the Mediterranean Sea. It is a joint venture between two great scientific minds who are leaders in their field and they both have a worldwide recognition.
Firstly, Professor Ben Ami Bravdo is the foremost authority on viticulture in Israel, who has by research, innovation and leadership inspired a whole generation of Israelis to make wine in the vineyards. He is the Professor of Viticulture at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Then there is Professor Oded Shoseyev who has specialized in research in the aroma of wines and whose family have been grape growers since 1882. He is the Professor of Biotechnology at the Hebrew Univisity of Jerusalem. Both have played crucial roles in the Israel wine revolution.
Bravdo-Karmei Yosef Winery is situated within its own vineyards, producing 80,000 bottles a year. It is one of the very few genuine estate wineries in Israel. It was founded in 2001 by the Ben Ami and Shoseyef families and is named after Professor Ben Ami Bravdo. The winery mission is to translate scientific excellence in agricultural research and state of the art wine making practices, to high quality wines with better health properties.
Bravdo is one of Israel’s finest boutique wineries with excellent third party recognition in both Israel and overseas.
